Short description:
Domeniile Franco-Romane was established in 2000 at the initiative of Denis Thomas, owner and winemaker in Bourgogne, with the help of a team of Romanian and French specialists.
The 45 acres of the estate are on slopes and terraces, and together with the wine cellar are located in the center of Dealu Mare region, where climate is very similar with the one in Bourgogne, in France. Conversion to the ecological wine culture started in 2003, and in 2006 the first bio certified wine in Romania was obtained.
In 2020, the takeover of the winery by a group of Romanian investors who brought 40 hectares of vines by merging with the Persu-Eminescu Domains was completed.
At this time, half of the plantation area is organically grown, Ecocert certified.
