Short description:
Domeniile Franco-Romane was established in 2000 at the initiative of Denis Thomas, owner and winemaker in Bourgogne, with the help of a team of Romanian and French specialists.
The 45 acres of the estate are on slopes and terraces, and together with the wine cellar are located in the center of Dealu Mare region, where climate is very similar with the one in Bourgogne, in France. Conversion to the ecological wine culture started in 2003, and in 2006 the first bio certified wine in Romania was obtained.
The technology used on the entire area is bio-moon culture. This associates the rules of ecological agriculture with the influence of the moon fazes, of its sidereal and synodical revolution movement. The purpose of this type of culture is to favor the respect for the environment and to allow vegetation, animals and microbial biodiversity development using the natural forces. The result: the health and the quality of the grapes. They are still processed using traditional technologies, obtaining high quality wines.
