Winery description
We are one of the most important wineries from Romania and the biggest in the western part of the country. In 2018, considering the business figures reported by the Ministry of Finance the biggest company in the Group reached the first place on the domestic wine market. Cramele Recas’ notorious quality standards apply for all of the wines in our portfolio, from entry level to super premium. Starting 2019, all our wines are certified vegan (Bureau Veritas).
Our winemakers, Hartley Smithers, Nora Iriarte and Florin Voloacă are the makers of Cramele Recas wines. Please consider the following brands among the most internationally awarded:
Solo Quinta - the first Romanian wine to win the Grand Gold Medal in the Vinalies Internationales contest (France, 2011) – this remarkable prize was followed along, with every subsequent vintage, by almost 35 top international medals);
Sole Chardonnay (winner of almost 30 gold, silver or bronze medals in the international wine contests from Germany, UK or France);
La Stejari Chardonnay (our first ultra-premium wine which confirmed its value and exceptional character by means of the 3 Gold Medals awarded in some of the most prestigious trade wine contests: Berliner Wine Trophy (Germany), Mundus Vini (Germany) and Vinalies Internationales (France);
Selene Merlot (awarded „Best Romanian Merlot” at the Gault&Millau Gala in 2018, followed by 5 gold, silver and bronze medals won at the international contests between 2018-2019.
Cuvee Überland - „Best in show Romania” wine from the spring edition of the Mundus Vini International Contest in 2019, followed by more than 10 medals won at an international level in time.
La Stejari Chardonnay
We own and manage a surface of approximately 1.150 hectares of vines located in Recaș (Timis county) and Minis (Arad county). Our annual production and storage capacity has increased to 32.000.000 Liters. We are also the biggest wine exporter of Romanian wine, and, as a result, our wines are distributed in countries such as The United Kingdom, USA, Canada, Germany, Japan, The Netherlands, Australia, the Emirates, or Sweden.
In 2019 we became the first Romanian wine producer to receive the Vegan Certificate for all the brands produced at Cramele Recas. The document, provided by Bureau Veritas, certifies the fact that in the whole vinification process (fermentation, maturation, stabilization, rinsing etc.) we don’t use products or components of animal origin.
Over the years, we set a new trend for Romanian wine, based on quality, variety and technological innovation, in order to satisfy the taste and preferences of our consumers, domestic and abroad.
